MORe: Past Projects - Airline Industry
Aircraft Routing
Aircraft routes were planned to ensure aircraft capacities match projected flight demands, and timely aircraft maintenance was scheduled. This was performed using mixed integer linear programming.
Airline Flight Scheduling
Passenger demands were modelled mathematically and flight schedules developed to capture demand, using operations research techniques.
Air Crew Scheduling
Flights were combined to form viable “tours of duty” to be worked by air crew, while providing a cost-effective solution for the airline. This highly complex planning problem was solved using software based on mathematical programming techniques.
